WADDL’s Bovine Diagnostics: Precision and Reliability for Veterinary Practices

In bovine veterinary care, precision and reliability are paramount. That’s why, at WADDL, we’re dedicated to providing you a comprehensive diagnostic solution specifically designed to meet the unique needs of bovine practitioners.

Our range of bovine disease diagnostic panels has been thoughtfully developed to cover the most prevalent and challenging conditions in cattle herds today.

Our offerings include:

Bovine pathology services

Our bovine pathology services take a thorough approach to understanding and diagnosing bovine health issues. Led by our skilled pathologist, we offer a range of diagnostics tailored specifically for cattle health concerns. From bovine necropsy to calf necropsy and our specialized bovine abortion panel, which includes fetal necropsy, histopathology, bacteriology, BVDV testing, and selenium assessment, our services are designed to uncover the complexities of bovine health challenges. With our expertise and advanced diagnostic tools, we’re dedicated to helping you understand and address the underlying factors affecting your herd’s health and well-being.

Bovine calf diarrhea panel

Our bovine calf diarrhea panel offers a streamlined approach to diagnosing diarrhea in calves aged one week or younger. With tests including: enteric aerobic culture, E. coli virulence genotyping PCR, and a multiplex CPR for Cryptosporidium spp., rotavirus, and bovine coronavirus, our tests promptly identify common pathogens responsible for calf diarrhea. In addition, for cases with suspected clostridial disease, we recommend additional testing for Clostridium perfringens. To ensure thorough detection, screening for bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) and assessment of trace elements or selenium can also be added to the panel to address other underlying predisposing factors.

Bovine enteric disease panel

Our bovine enteric disease panel Our bovine enteric disease panel offers a cutting-edge solution for the rapid detection of common enteric disease agents in bovine herds. Utilizing real-time PCR technology, our triplex assay specifically identifies key pathogens, including bovine coronavirus, bovine rotavirus, and Cryptosporidium parvum. Our panel is designed to streamline diagnostic processes with timely and accurate insights into the presence of these pathogens, facilitating targeted strategies and proactive management approaches. By identifying and addressing enteric diseases promptly, our panel helps to safeguard the health and productivity of bovine herds, ensuring optimal outcomes for both animals and producers.

Bovine respiratory disease PCR panel

Our bovine respiratory disease panel PCR offers a precise diagnostic solution for detecting key pathogens associated with respiratory illness in cattle. Using real-time PCR technology, our panel swiftly identifies Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVD)Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BHV-1)Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (BRSV), and Bovine Coronavirus (BCV).

This comprehensive approach allows veterinarians to diagnose respiratory diseases quickly and accurately, enabling timely responses to the infection. With our panel, you can confidently address respiratory challenges in cattle herds, promoting better health outcomes and herd productivity.

Bovine respiratory disease serology panel

Our bovine respiratory serologic panel is a vital diagnostic tool designed to detect antibodies to key pathogens responsible for Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD), including bovine parainfluenza 3 (PI3) virus, bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV), bovine herpesvirus 1 (BHV-1/IBR), and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV). Utilizing virus neutralization (VN) techniques, this panel enables veterinarians and cattle producers to gain crucial insights into the health status of their herds. By measuring the presence and levels of antibodies in the blood of cattle, this panel provides valuable information about exposure to BRD pathogens, allowing for early detection, targeted intervention, and proactive management strategies.

Bovine abortion serology panel

Our bovine abortion serologic panel is a crucial diagnostic tool designed to detect antibodies to a range of pathogens associated with bovine abortion. This comprehensive panel includes tests for antibodies to bovine herpesvirus 1 (BHV-1), bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV)Neospora caninumBrucella abortus, and six Leptospira serovars.

By utilizing serologic techniques, this panel enables veterinarians and cattle producers to identify potential causes of abortion in cattle herds. Detection of antibodies to these pathogens provides valuable insights into the reproductive health status of the herd, facilitating targeted intervention and preventive measures to mitigate further losses.

In addition to our comprehensive diagnostic offerings, we take pride in being fully accredited by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD). As members of prestigious networks such as the USDA National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) and the FDA Veterinary Laboratory Investigation and Response Network (FDA Vet-LIRN), we uphold the highest standards of quality and reliability in veterinary diagnostics. With WADDL, you can trust in the accuracy and precision of our test results, allowing you to confidently navigate the complexities of bovine health management and optimize herd health outcomes.
