Gastrointestinal Lymphoma Panel

Gastrointestinal Lymphoma Panel

Row of Dogs and Cats

Gastrointestinal biopsies, both surgical and endoscopic, are frequently submitted in cases of nonspecific gastrointestinal clinical signs. Most often, these samples are intended to differentiate between infectious, inflammatory, and neoplastic conditions. Differentiating gastrointestinal inflammation (inflammatory bowel disease) from lymphoma can be difficult and it has been shown that immunophenotyping via immunohistochemistry (IHC) can improve the accuracy of diagnosis. This is especially useful for endoscopic biopsies, but in some instances, also beneficial for full thickness surgical biopsies. Especially in cats, where small cell lymphomas predominate, the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis have been shown to be improved using an algorithm including histology and IHC, followed by PCR for clonality, also known as PCR for antigen receptor rearrangement (PARR).

Samples, Tests & Fees

The GI lymphoma panel includes histology and IHC for both B and T cells (CD20 and CD3, respectively).

We are switching from paper accession forms to an online ordering system which will expedite the sample testing process.

If you don’t have an online account, please go to to enroll (it takes 1-2 minutes). Once approved, you’ll receive an email with a link to submit your order, or you can go directly to the   WADDL Client Portal.

This 4-step submission process will take you through a series of questions to ensure all required information is provided, so when your package arrives, samples are moved quickly to their testing section(s). These tests may be ordered by choosing “GI lymphoma panel.” Additionally, if you have multiple animals to test, there is an upload function which will save time.

Thereafter, you may log in at any time to view the status of your order, ensure it was received, and view/print results.

For more details and current prices (including out-of-state pricing), go to the Web Test Search Tool and type “Lymphoma” in the query field.
